Itinerary

DAY 1 – Delhi
Arrive at Delhi Indira Gandhi International Airport to be met by your tour driver and guide and transferred to your hotel. Depending on the time of your flight you may have chance to visit Sanjay Van where you will have the opportunity to see Babbler, Bulbul, Green Bee Eater, Kingfishers, Kites, Rose ringed Parakeets and many other species. An evening visit to the floodlit India Gate can expect to produce sightings of White-rumped Needletails.

Day 2 – Sultanpur
After breakfast you may wish to have an early morning tour of Delhi before transferring to Sultanpur Bird Sanctuary (closed Monday – in which case we will substitute Sariska Wildlife Sanctuary) for your afternoon guided bird watching walk around the lake areas where Common Hoopoes Paddyfield Pipit, Purple Sunbird Little Cormorant, Eurasian Thick Knee, Black Francolin, Rose Ringed Parakeet, Shikra, Bank Myna and Green Bee Eater are amongst the 250 expected species.

Day 3 to 4 – Bharatpur
An early morning guided bird watching walk, breakfast and then transfer to Keoladeo National Park. You will arrive in time for a late afternoon guided bird watching walk in the park. Over the next few days you will have morning and afternoon birding walks or cycle rickshaw tours within the National Park accompanied by a local bird-watching expert such as Brijendra Singh. Among the highlights will be Oriental Honey Buzzard, Indian Grey Hornbill, Bluethroat, Scops Collared Owl, Dusky Eagle Owl, Greater Spotted Eagle, Egyptian Vulture ,Sarus Crane, Woolly-necked Stork, Painted Stork, Ruddy Shelduck and Black-shouldered Kite.

Day 5 – Dholpur
After Breakfast, You will have Dholpur sightseeing and would be able to see all the incredible places of Dholpur like Van Vihar Wildlife Sanctuary, Ramsagar Sanctuary, Khanpur Mahal, Machkund Temple Damoh Water Fall and so on depend on your interest and time.

Day 6 to 7 – Chambal
Transfer to the National Chambal Sanctuary – a 400km stretch of the River Chambal and a 1 to 6 km wide swathe of river ravines on both banks offers a protected area for wildlife, some such as the Ghariel, Freshwater Dolphin, Blackbuck and Nilgai being unique to the Indian subcontinent. The birding checklist runs to approximately 300 residents, migrants and local migrants. A full list is available via the enquiry form. During your stay at Chambal you will experience 2 river safaris, a visit to the Sarus Crane wetland area and 2 nature walks.

Day 8 – Agra
Today you will see the famed Taj Mahal. This is only 1 of 3 World Heritage sites in Agra, the others being Fatehpur Sikri , the abandoned capital of Akbar and Agra Fort where Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son, only able to gaze down the Yamuna River at the Taj Mahal which he had built to commemorate his favourite wife Mumtaz.

Day 9 – Delhi :- Morning guided bird watching walk returning to Delhi cover left over places in Delhi.
Overnight stay at Royal Place, Delhi

Day 10 – Today you will be Transfer to IGI Airport for your return or onward flight.
