Day 4: After breakfast, you will continue your Rajasthan Tour to Jodhpur, the Blue City. Mehrangarh Fort is the dominant feature of Jodhpur, still run by the Maharaja of Jodhpur, with fortifications built from the local rock and reaching up to 36 metres. It is well worth taking the audio guide to get the most out of your visit.

Day 5: Continue sightseeing in Jodhpur. The Clock Tower and Sadar Market area is a wonderful place to wander through narrow alleys lined with shops and stalls selling vegetables, spices, sweets, silver, and handicrafts.

Day 6: After breakfast, you will continue your tour to Ranakpur, the site of one of India’s largest Jain temples: the Chaumukha Mandir (four-faced temple) built in 1439 of milk-white marble has 29 halls supported by 1444 pillars.

Day 9: Onward to Pushkar, a Hindu pilgrimage town curling around a holy lake which is said to have appeared when Brahma dropped a lotus flower. Pushkar is also famous for its camel fair, held in October/November.

Day 10: Next is Bharatpur, famous for its UNESCO World Heritage-listed Keoladeo Ghana National Park, a wetland bird sanctuary which may be visited by cycle rickshaw pedalled by knowledgeable guides who will point out and identify the amazing range of birds, mammals, butterflies and plants that inhabit the park.

Day 11: Continue your tour to Agra to visit probably the most famous site in India, the Taj Mahal. This is only one of three World Heritage sites in Agra. The others are Fatehpur Sikri, the abandoned capital of Akbar, and Agra Fort where Shah Jahan was imprisoned by his son. He was only able to gaze down the Yamuna River at the Taj Mahal, which he had built to commemorate his favourite wife Mumtaz.

Day 12: After breakfast, you will continue the tour before returning to Delhi. If you wish there will be time to visit the Mathura temples on the way.
